News There's a good chance I'll be working with International Rivers in the coming weeks to document a group of the Ashaninka tribe in the Peruvian Amazon. The Ashaninka are a subsistence community that stand to suffer great losses to their ancestral land because of a large scale dam project that has been approved on the Ene River. The project, planned soley to export electricty to Brazil, will not only severly disrupt the life of the Ashaninka people, but also have unknown consequences in some of the most pristine and biologically diverse forests on Earth. International Rivers would use material I produce to help launch their publicity campaign to block the contruction of no less than 18 dams along the river. They are an amazing organization and have had success in the past in stopping these huge projects that are so harmful to both indigenous cultures and the environment, so please check them out at the above link. Check back here for developments on this project.
